No, because ceramics have supperior thermal reflection,when you close the lid, the heat envelops the food from all sides. This creates a crust on the surface of the food, which prevents the meat juice and aroma from escaping. The meat gets a very appealing color and becomes tastier, tender and healthier. Vegetables, fish or, for example, a simple pizza also get the unique taste of egg kamado grill.
Our kiln is auto controlled by computer with +-3 degree in temperature difference which result in stability in ceramic as well as glaze. Quality is over 98% good. We have our own molding engineer and can deliver new sample or your own design in quickest way.
Yes, this is normal. If you have a Egg Kamado which has a glaze on it, this "crazing" does not harm and is no reason to be concerned. That's normal for Egg Kamado item, it happens to all Egg Kamado in the market, people call it "crazing". It caused by the different expansion rate between "glaze" and "clay", it happens once Egg Kamado come out of the kiln, and look obvious after dust fall on it.
You can control the temperature by adjusting the amount of air that enters and exists the Egg Kamado. Our Egg Kamado have a top vent and bottom vent both for controlling temperature, so that you can precisely control the airflow. You can control the temperature to within a few degrees. Normally, the bottom is for general temperature control, and top vent is for fine adjustment.
